Nugge Soppu(Drumstick Leaves) Bath

Ingredients:
1.5 cups White Rice (Preferred Sona Masuri or Basmathi)
2 Tomatoes
2 Onions
1 bunch of Drumstick leaves / Nugge Soppu
1/2 inch sized Ginger
1/2 cup frozen / cooked Green Peas
2 Green Chillies
1.5 tsp Bengal Gram seeds
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp Black Gram seeds
2 Red Chillies
Pinch of Turmeric powder
Salt to taste
6-8 Curry leaves
4-5 strands of Coriander leaves
1/2 Lemon (1-1.5 tsp Lemon Juice)
5 -6 tsp Oil

Recipe:
Cook the rice and keep it aside.

Chop onion, ginger, tomato, drumstick leaves, coriander leaves into small pieces as shown in the picture below. Cut green chillies into medium sized pieces.

Put mustard seeds, black gram seeds, bengal gram seeds, red chillies and oil in a thick bottomed vessel/pan. Once it starts spluttering, add chopped ginger, green chillies, curry leaves, frozen green peas, turmeric powder, salt and chopped onion. Fry them for about 3-4 mins in medium flame until onion turns golden in color. Add chopped drum stick leaves and fry them in medium flame for about 3-4 mins. Add chopped tomato and fry them in medium flame for about 3-4 mins.

Add cooked rice and mix well.

Add chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice and mix well. Keep the rice bath in low flame for about 3-4 mins. Serve hot.
