Pineapple Menaskayi

Ingredients:
Small piece of Pineapple
Pinch of Turmeric
2 medium lemon sized Jaggary
1/2 tsp chilly powder
1 Green Chilly
3/4 cup grated Coconut
4-5 Red Chillies
4-5 tsp Sesame seeds / Ellu
Salt to taste
2-3 Curry Leaves
1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
3-4 tsp Oil

Recipe:
Remove outer skin of pineapple and cut into small pieces as shown in the picture below. Cut the green chilly into two pieces.

Put jaggary, salt, pinch of turmeric powder, chilly powder, green chilly, chopped pineapple, water in a vessel and cook.
Put sesame seeds in a pan and fry until it starts spluttering.

Put red chillies, 1 tsp oil in a pan and fry them until you get nice aroma.
Put grated coconut, fried red chilly, fried sesame seeds in a mixer and grind it into smooth paste by adding sufficient amount of water. (If it is frozen coconut use hot water while grinding.) Add this ground coconut to a vessel containing cooked pineapple and bring it to boil. Keep the menaskayi in low flame for about 4-5 mins. Add mustard seeds and 1 tsp oil in a pan. Once it starts spluttering, add curry leaves and add it to Menaskayi. Mix well before serving. It goes well with Rice and Dosas.
